A Non-convex One-Pass Framework for Generalized Factorization Machine and Rank-One Matrix Sensing
نویسندگان
چکیده
We develop an efficient alternating framework for learning a generalized version of Factorization Machine (gFM) on steaming data with provable guarantees. When the instances are sampled from d dimensional random Gaussian vectors and the target second order coefficient matrix in gFM is of rank k, our algorithm converges linearly, achieves O( ) recovery error after retrieving O(kd log(1/ )) training instances, consumesO(kd) memory in one-pass of dataset and only requires matrixvector product operations in each iteration. The key ingredient of our framework is a construction of an estimation sequence endowed with a so-called Conditionally Independent RIP condition (CI-RIP). As special cases of gFM, our framework can be applied to symmetric or asymmetric rank-one matrix sensing problems, such as inductive matrix completion and phase retrieval.

متن کاملA Projected Alternating Least square Approach for Computation of Nonnegative Matrix Factorization
Nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF) is a common method in data mining that have been used in different applications as a dimension reduction, classification or clustering method. Methods in alternating least square (ALS) approach usually used to solve this non-convex minimization problem. At each step of ALS algorithms two convex least square problems should be solved, which causes high com...
متن کاملWaveform Design using Second Order Cone Programming in Radar Systems
Transmit waveform design is one of the most important problems in active sensing and communication systems. This problem, due to the complexity and non-convexity, has been always the main topic of many papers for the decades. However, still an optimal solution which guarantees a global minimum for this multi-variable optimization problem is not found. In this paper, we propose an attracting met...
متن کاملIterative Weighted Non-smooth Non-negative Matrix Factorization for Face Recognition
Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NMF) is a part-based image representation method. It comes from the intuitive idea that entire face image can be constructed by combining several parts. In this paper, we propose a framework for face recognition by finding localized, part-based representations, denoted “Iterative weighted non-smooth non-negative matrix factorization” (IWNS-NMF). A new cost fun...
متن کاملStructured Low-Rank Matrix Factorization: Global Optimality, Algorithms, and Applications
Recently, convex formulations of low-rank matrix factorization problems have received considerable attention in machine learning. However, such formulations often require solving for a matrix of the size of the data matrix, making it challenging to apply them to large scale datasets. Moreover, in many applications the data can display structures beyond simply being low-rank, e.g., images and vi...
